Here are three very easy napkin folds you can use right away.
Simple rectangle fold
- Lay the napkin flat, smooth it out.
- Fold it in half to make a rectangle.
- Fold in half again (or into thirds) until it’s a long strip, then place it on the plate or under the fork and knife.
Basic pocket for cutlery
- Lay the napkin flat like a square.
- Fold it in half from bottom to top, then in half again from left to right.
- Take just the top layer and fold its corner down to form a small triangle pocket, then slide your cutlery inside.
Easy knot fold
- Lay the napkin flat.
- Fold it into a long strip (fold in thirds or roll loosely).
- Tie a simple loose knot in the middle and place it on the plate, adjusting the ends so it looks neat.
