Here is how to freeze panes in Excel:
- Go to the View tab on the Ribbon.
- You have several Freeze options:
- Freeze Top Row: Keeps the top row visible as you scroll down.
- Freeze First Column: Keeps the first column visible as you scroll right.
- Freeze Panes: Freezes rows above and columns to the left of the selected cell.
- To freeze multiple rows or columns, select the cell immediately below the last row and to the right of the last column you want frozen, then click Freeze Panes.
- To unfreeze, go to View and select Unfreeze Panes.
For example, to freeze the top row and first column simultaneously, select cell B2 and then click Freeze Panes. The window will show thicker borders indicating where panes are frozen.
