how to get rid of total line in microsoft access table

Nature

In Microsoft Access, you can remove the Total line by opening the table in Datasheet View and turning off the Totals row from the Home tab. If the row was added with the Totals button, clicking it again usually hides it.

How to remove it

  1. Open the table in Datasheet View.
  2. Go to the Home tab.
  3. In the Records group, click Totals to toggle the Total row off.

That row is meant for quick sums, counts, averages, and similar calculations, so turning it off restores the table to a normal datasheet. Microsoft documents that the Totals command adds a Total row at the bottom of the datasheet and lets you choose an aggregate for each column.

If it keeps coming back

Sometimes the Total row is controlled by a table property rather than just the ribbon toggle. In that case, the table’s TotalsRow property needs to be set to False to remove it.

When you might not need to remove it

If you only want to stop seeing totals temporarily, the toggle is enough. If you want a permanent change in a shared database, saving the table after turning Totals off is the safer route. Access uses totals rows for summary work, not for storing data itself, so removing it does not delete records.
