To go to the Instagram map, follow these steps:
- Make sure the Instagram app is updated to the latest version from your app store.
- Open the Instagram app.
- Go to your Direct Messages (DM) inbox by tapping the message icon.
- At the top of your DM inbox, you will see a "Map" option next to other icons like Notes.
- Tap the Map icon to open the Instagram Map feature.
This map shows location-based content such as Stories and Reels from people you follow, as well as your friends' shared locations if they have opted to share. You can also use the map for discovering nearby popular spots. The location sharing feature is opt-in, allowing you to choose who can see your location or to keep it private. Alternatively, you can access the Instagram Map through the Explore page by tapping the map icon in the top-right corner, or by tapping a location tag in a post or Story, which opens the Map view for that specific place.
