To search by an image on Google, you can do the following:
- Go to images.google.com on your browser.
- Tap or click the camera icon in the search bar to search by image.
- You have two options:
- Paste the URL of an image if you have one.
- Upload an image from your device by clicking on "Upload an image" and then selecting the image file.
- Once the image is uploaded or the URL is pasted, Google will show search results including similar images and related websites.
On mobile devices, you can also use the Google app or Chrome app to perform an image search by:
- Opening the app,
- Tapping the Google Lens icon,
- Taking a photo or uploading an existing image to search with it.
Additionally, on Chrome browser on mobile, you can long-press an image on a webpage and choose "Search image with Google" to start an image search with that image. This method works on desktop and mobile with some variations in interface but the general process is the same—using the camera icon (Google Lens) to search by an image. The search results will show visually similar images, related results, and sometimes object recognition details from the image.
