To join the Fighters Guild in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, you need to visit one of the three cities where you can officially sign up: Anvil, Cheydinhal, or Chorrol. Each city has a Guild Master you must speak to in order to join:
- In Anvil, talk to Azzan.
- In Cheydinhal, talk to Burz gro-Khash.
- In Chorrol, talk to Vilena Donton.
Once you find the Guild Master in one of these cities, simply speak to them and ask to join the Fighters Guild. You do not need to meet any skill requirements or have a high disposition, but you cannot join if you have more than 100 Infamy unless you also have more than 100 Fame. If you have a bounty, you must pay it off before joining
. After joining, you will receive your first quest from the Guild Master, which varies by city:
- Anvil: "A Rat Problem"
- Cheydinhal: "Desolate Mine"
- Chorrol: "Unfinished Business"
Joining early is recommended if you plan to do a lot of morally questionable actions, as high Infamy can block membership
. In summary:
- Go to Anvil, Cheydinhal, or Chorrol.
- Find and talk to the Fighters Guild leader (Azzan, Burz gro-Khash, or Vilena Donton).
- Ask to join the guild.
- Complete the starting quest they give you.
This process will start your journey through the Fighters Guild ranks and open up mercenary contracts for you to complete
