To link Spotify to Instagram, follow these steps:
- Open your Instagram app and go to the Direct Messages section.
- Tap your profile bubble or create a new Instagram Note.
- Tap the music note icon within the Note creation screen.
- At the top, there will be an option to "Link Spotify." Tap it.
- You will be redirected to authorize linking your Spotify account with Instagram.
- Approve the permissions requested to connect the accounts.
- Once linked, Instagram will display the Spotify track you’re currently listening to in your Instagram Notes. You can add a caption if desired.
This feature dynamically updates the song you’re playing on Spotify in your Notes for 24 hours, allowing friends to see and tap to play the song directly on Spotify.
Additionally, you can share specific Spotify songs directly to Instagram Stories from the Spotify app by using the Share option in Spotify and selecting Instagram Story.
This integration is available on both iOS and Android globally as of mid-2025.
