To make Google Docs dark mode, there are different ways depending on the device:
On Desktop:
- Use a browser extension like "Dark Reader" or "Google Doc Dark Mode" extension from the Chrome Web Store to toggle dark mode on Google Docs.
- In Google Chrome, enable the flag "Auto Dark mode for Web contents" by visiting
chrome://flags
and enabling the force dark mode option, then relaunch the browser. This sets dark mode across the browser including Google Docs. - Alternatively, adjust the page color in Google Docs by going to File > Page Setup, selecting "Pageless", and setting the background to black or dark grey. Change the text color to white to simulate dark mode.
On Mobile (Android and iOS):
- Google Docs follows your device’s system-wide dark mode. Enable dark mode in your device's Display settings (iOS or Android), then reopen Google Docs and it will switch to dark mode automatically.
These options include built-in system settings, browser flags, Chrome extensions, or manual adjustment of page colors for a dark theme experience while using Google Docs.
