To make classic jello shots, follow these steps: Ingredients:
- 1 (3-ounce) box flavored gelatin (Jell-O)
- 1 cup boiling water
- ½ cup cold water
- ½ cup vodka (or other alcohol)
Instructions:
- Boil 1 cup of water. Pour the boiling water into a mixing bowl containing the gelatin powder. Stir or whisk until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
- Add ½ cup cold water and ½ cup vodka to the mixture. Stir well to combine.
- Pour the mixture into small plastic shot cups, filling each about ¾ full to allow space for lids.
- Place the cups in the refrigerator and chill for 2 to 4 hours until the gelatin is fully set.
- Once set, cover with lids if available and serve. Optionally, you can top with whipped cream before serving.
Tips:
- Use a middle-shelf vodka for smoother taste.
- For stronger shots, replace the cold water with more vodka, but warn your guests.
- To speed up setting, use very cold alcohol and water, or add ice cubes to the cold water and remove them before mixing
This method yields about 10 shots per 3-ounce gelatin box and can be made in any flavor you prefer
