To measure ring size, there are two common methods:
- Measure an existing ring that fits well:
- Take a ring that fits comfortably.
- Measure the inner diameter of the ring using a ruler in millimeters.
- The measurement corresponds to the ring size (for example, 17mm diameter is ring size 17).
- Measure your finger with a string or strip of paper:
- Wrap a string or paper strip snugly around the finger at the point the ring will be worn.
- Mark where the ends meet.
- Measure the length of the string/paper with a ruler in millimeters to find the circumference.
- Convert the circumference to the ring size using a ring size chart (e.g., circumference 53mm corresponds roughly to ring size 17).
Additional tips:
- Measure when your finger is warm as size can vary with temperature.
- Use a ring band width of less than 0.5 cm if measuring an existing ring to get accurate size.
- Do not measure too tightly; the string or ring should fit comfortably, not too tight or loose.
