how to measure ring size

To measure ring size, there are two common methods:

  1. Measure an existing ring that fits well:
    • Take a ring that fits comfortably.
    • Measure the inner diameter of the ring using a ruler in millimeters.
    • The measurement corresponds to the ring size (for example, 17mm diameter is ring size 17).
  2. Measure your finger with a string or strip of paper:
    • Wrap a string or paper strip snugly around the finger at the point the ring will be worn.
    • Mark where the ends meet.
    • Measure the length of the string/paper with a ruler in millimeters to find the circumference.
    • Convert the circumference to the ring size using a ring size chart (e.g., circumference 53mm corresponds roughly to ring size 17).

Additional tips:

  • Measure when your finger is warm as size can vary with temperature.
  • Use a ring band width of less than 0.5 cm if measuring an existing ring to get accurate size.
  • Do not measure too tightly; the string or ring should fit comfortably, not too tight or loose.
