To pair AirPods to an iPhone, follow these steps:
- Make sure your iPhone has the latest version of iOS and Bluetooth is turned on.
- Put your AirPods inside their charging case and open the lid.
- Hold the open charging case close to your iPhone.
- A setup animation will appear on your iPhone screen. Tap "Connect."
- Follow any on-screen instructions, such as setting up "Hey Siri" if prompted.
- Tap "Done" when the setup is complete.
If the setup animation does not appear, press and hold the setup button on the back of the AirPods case until the light flashes white, then go to your iPhone's Bluetooth settings and select your AirPods from the list to connect. Once paired, your AirPods will automatically connect to any device signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID. This method works for all AirPods models, including AirPods Pro and AirPods Max, with minor differences in setup for some features like noise cancellation and spatial audio.
