To power off an iPhone without touching the screen, use the physical button combinations based on your iPhone model:
- For iPhones without a Home button (like iPhone X and newer): Press and hold the Side button and either Volume Up or Volume Down button together. Hold them for about 10-20 seconds until the device powers off. If it restarts instead, try again and release once the screen goes black. To keep the phone off after powering down, hold the Side button and Volume Up button until the Apple logo disappears, then release to prevent restart.
- For iPhones with a Home button (older models): Press and hold the Lock/Unlock (power) button and the Home button simultaneously until the screen turns off. Release the buttons once the screen goes black. Holding the buttons longer causes a restart.
- Alternatively, if Siri is enabled, say "Hey Siri, turn off my iPhone" and confirm the action to power off without touch.
This method works if the touch screen is unresponsive or broken, allowing you to power off without screen interaction.
