To program (pair) a Firestick remote with your Firestick device, follow these steps:
- Power on your Firestick device by plugging it into the TV’s HDMI port and connecting it to a power source. Ensure your remote has fresh batteries inserted.
- On the Firestick remote, press and hold the Home button for about 10 seconds to put the remote into pairing mode.
- On your TV screen, the Firestick will search for the remote and show an on-screen prompt confirming the pairing. Select "Yes" or "OK" to complete the pairing process.
- Test the remote by navigating through the Firestick interface to ensure it functions correctly.
If you want the remote to control your TV's volume and power, go to Firestick Settings > Equipment Control > Manage Equipment > TV and follow prompts to set up TV control. If you don't have the old remote to navigate menus, you can use the Amazon Fire TV app on your phone to control the Firestick and add the new remote via the Controllers & Bluetooth Devices settings. This process works for new remotes, replacement remotes, and reconnecting your Firestick remote if it becomes unpaired.
