To remove a payment method from your Amazon account, you can follow these steps depending on whether you are using the website (desktop) or the mobile app:
On Amazon Website (Desktop)
- Sign in to your Amazon account.
- Hover over your name or click on Account & Lists in the top-right corner.
- Click on Your Payments or Payment options.
- In the list of payment methods, select the card or payment method you want to delete.
- Click Edit.
- Scroll to the bottom of the edit page and click Remove From Wallet.
- Confirm the removal by clicking Confirm Remove.
This will delete the selected payment method from your account
On Amazon Mobile App
- Open the Amazon app and sign in.
- Tap the user icon or menu to access Your Account.
- Scroll down and tap Your Payments.
- Find and select the payment method you want to remove.
- Tap Edit at the top-right corner.
- Scroll down and tap Remove From Wallet.
- Confirm the removal.
If the card is linked to subscriptions or services, you may be prompted to update those payment methods before removal
Additional Notes
- Removing a payment method does not cancel any active orders using that method.
- If you have bank accounts linked via Amazon Payments, you can also delete them by managing your bank accounts in your Amazon Payments account settings
- The steps are similar for removing credit cards, debit cards, and bank accounts.
