To renew your Global Entry membership, follow these steps:
- Check Eligibility and Timing
You can renew your Global Entry membership up to one year before it expires. If you renew before expiration, you can continue to use your benefits for up to 24 months after your expiration date while your renewal is processed
- Log into Your Trusted Traveler Program (TTP) Account
Go to the TTP website and log in with your login.gov credentials linked to your Global Entry PASSID (membership number)
- Start the Renewal Application
From your account dashboard, select the "Renew" button in the Global Entry membership section. Complete the renewal application, updating any personal information such as address, employment history, travel history, and citizenship declaration
- Pay the Renewal Fee
The renewal fee is currently $100 (subject to change). Payment is required to submit your renewal application. Some credit cards may reimburse this fee
- Conditional Approval and Interview
After submitting your renewal, you may be instantly approved or conditionally approved. Conditional approval means you may need to schedule and complete an in-person interview. Some members may be eligible for a virtual interview or Enrollment on Arrival at select airports, where you can complete the interview upon returning from international travel without an appointment
- Receive and Activate Your Card
Once approved, your Global Entry card will be mailed to your address on file. You must activate the card online before using it
Additional Notes:
- If you apply for renewal before your membership expires, you can continue to use Global Entry benefits during the processing period, even if your membership expires in the meantime
- If you miss your expiration date without applying, you lose the grace period and must reapply as a new member, including a full interview
- Keep your documents handy during renewal, such as your passport, driver's license, addresses, employment history, travel history, and any criminal history disclosures
This process ensures you maintain expedited entry benefits through U.S. Customs and Border Protection for another five years
