To scan documents with your iPhone, you can use the built-in scanner in the Notes app or the Files app. Here's how to do it using the Notes app:
- Open the Notes app and create a new note or open an existing one.
- Tap the camera icon (or a paperclip icon in iOS 18 and later) within the note.
- Select "Scan Documents."
- Place the document on a flat surface with good lighting.
- Hold your iPhone above the document. The camera will automatically detect the document edges and scan it. If it doesn’t, you can manually press the shutter button.
- After scanning, you can adjust the crop by dragging the corners.
- Tap "Keep Scan" to save each page. You can scan multiple pages in one session.
- When finished, tap "Save" to add the scanned document to your note.
You can also scan documents using the Files app by opening the app, tapping the More button (three dots), and selecting "Scan Documents," then following similar steps as above. Scanning with your iPhone creates digital versions of your documents which you can save, share via email, or print directly from your phone without needing any additional apps.
