To take a screenshot on a MacBook, use the following keyboard shortcuts:
- To capture the entire screen, press Shift + Command (⌘) + 3. The screenshot will be saved on your desktop.
- To capture a specific window, press Shift + Command (⌘) + 4 , then press the spacebar to change the cursor to a camera icon, and click the window you want to capture. The screenshot will be saved on your desktop.
- To capture a selected portion of the screen, press Shift + Command (⌘) + 4 , then click and drag to select the part of the screen you want to screenshot. Release the mouse button to take the screenshot.
You can also use the Screenshot app by pressing Shift + Command (⌘) + 5 , which provides options to capture the entire screen, a window, or a portion, as well as screen recording features. These screenshots are typically saved directly to the desktop unless you specify otherwise in the Screenshot app options.
