Snapchat “Wrapped” or “Recap” is shown as a special Year in Review inside Memories and sometimes as a banner or card in the app. It only appears for active accounts and usually rolls out around December each year.
Basic steps
- Update Snapchat to the latest version in the App Store (iPhone) or Play Store (Android).
- Open Snapchat to the main camera screen and check for a “Wrapped,” “Recap,” “Year in Review,” or similar banner on the camera, Stories, or Spotlight area; tap it if you see it.
Using Memories
- From the camera screen, tap the Memories/media icon next to the shutter button to open your Snapchat Memories.
- At the top, look for a card or section labeled something like “A Look Back,” “[Year] Recap,” or month-based “Wrapped” sections; tap it to view your organized snaps and yearly recap.
If you don’t see it
- Make sure Memories backup is on and you have snaps saved there, because the recap uses those memories.
- Try closing and reopening the app after updating; for some users the recap shows up a bit later or only on eligible, active accounts.
Optional web link method
- Some tutorials suggest visiting snapchat.com/recap on your phone, logging into your account, and then choosing “Open in Snapchat” if your recap is ready.
- If the page says it is coming soon or nothing shows, your recap may not be generated yet or your account may not be included this year.
If you tell what screen you’re stuck on (camera, Memories, etc.), more specific step-by-step help can be given.
