To see a saved Wi-Fi password on an Android device, especially if it runs Android 10 or later, follow these steps:
- Open the Settings app on your Android phone.
- Navigate to Network & Internet (or Connections on some devices).
- Tap on Wi-Fi or Internet.
- Select the Wi-Fi network you are currently connected to or choose one from Saved Networks.
- Tap the gear icon or settings icon next to the network name.
- Tap Share. You will be prompted to authenticate using your fingerprint, PIN, or password.
- A QR code will appear on the screen, and below it, the Wi-Fi password will be displayed in plain text.
You can either read the password directly or share the QR code with another device to connect without typing the password manually
Additional Notes:
- On Samsung devices (Android 10 to 13), the process is similar but you can only view the password for the currently connected network.
- If you want to extract the password from the QR code image, you can save it and use apps like Google Lens or online QR code readers to decode the password
- This method does not require rooting your device.
This approach works on most modern Android devices running Android 10 and above without needing extra apps or root access
