There are three main ways to send a fax: using a fax machine, from a computer, or via a mobile device/app. Using a fax machine:
- Plug in the fax machine, connect the telephone line, load paper, and turn it on.
- Place the document(s) face up in the document feeder tray.
- Dial the recipient's fax number including country and area codes.
- Press the "Send" button; the machine scans and transmits the document.
- Wait for confirmation on the machine display or printout that the fax was sent successfully.
From a computer:
- Use a fax modem connected to your computer or an online fax service.
- Install and configure fax software, like Windows Fax and Scan or services like eFax, FAX.PLUS.
- Create a new fax message, entering the recipient's fax number.
- Attach the document (scan physical ones to PDF first).
- Send the fax and wait for confirmation.
From a mobile device:
- Download a fax app such as Fax.Plus or eFax.
- Register and set up an account within the app.
- Create a new fax, enter the recipient's fax number.
- Attach the document from your device.
- Send it and receive confirmation via the app or email.
These methods cover sending a fax whether you have traditional fax hardware or want to send a fax digitally without a fax machine.
