To take a screenshot on an iPad, the method depends on whether your iPad has a Home button or not:
- On an iPad with Face ID (no Home button): Quickly press and release the top button and either volume button at the same time.
- On an iPad with a Home button: Quickly press and release the top button and the Home button at the same time.
After taking a screenshot, a thumbnail appears temporarily in the lower-left corner of the screen. You can tap it to edit or swipe left to dismiss it. Screenshots are automatically saved to the Photos app under the Screenshots album
. Additional options include:
- Full-page screenshot: After taking a screenshot, tap the thumbnail, then tap "Full Page" to capture an entire webpage or long content. You can save it as a PDF to Files or as an image to Photos
- Using Apple Pencil: Swipe up from the bottom corner of the screen to take a screenshot if you have an Apple Pencil and enable this gesture in Settings > Apple Pencil
- AssistiveTouch: Enable AssistiveTouch in Accessibility settings, then use the on-screen menu to take a screenshot without pressing physical buttons
These methods cover all current iPad models and provide flexibility for capturing your screen efficiently.
