Taking a screenshot varies slightly depending on the device and operating system: On Windows:

  • Press Windows key + Shift + S to open the Snipping Tool overlay to capture a rectangular, window, full screen, or freeform snip.
  • Press Print Screen (PrtSc) to capture the entire screen to clipboard.
  • Press Windows key + PrtSc captures the screen and saves it to the Pictures > Screenshots folder automatically.
  • Alt + PrtSc captures the current active window to clipboard.

On Mac:

  • Press Shift + Command + 3 to capture the entire screen.
  • Press Shift + Command + 4 to capture a selected portion of the screen by dragging the cursor.
  • Press Shift + Command + 4, then Space bar to capture a specific window.

On Android:

  • Press Power button + Volume Down button simultaneously to take a screenshot.
  • Some phones have additional gestures or screen buttons for screenshots.

On iPhone/iPad:

  • For devices without a Home button, press the Side button + Volume Up button simultaneously.
  • For devices with a Home button, press Sleep/Wake button + Home button simultaneously.

In all cases, screenshots are either saved directly or copied to clipboard for further editing or saving. Additional screenshot apps and tools may offer more options and delay captures.
