To take a screenshot on a PC, there are several methods depending on what you want to capture and how you want to save it:
- Press Print Screen (PrtScn) key to capture the entire screen. This copies the screenshot to the clipboard, and you can paste it into an image editor (like Paint) to save it.
- Press Windows key + Print Screen to capture the entire screen and automatically save the screenshot to the Pictures > Screenshots folder.
- Press Alt + Print Screen to capture only the active window to the clipboard. Then paste it in an editor to save.
- Use the Snipping Tool by pressing Windows key + Shift + S to select a portion of the screen, window, or full screen. The image is copied to the clipboard and a notification appears to open the Snipping Tool for annotation, saving, or sharing.
- You can also use Windows key + G to open the Game bar and take screenshots during games.
These methods work on Windows 10 and 11 PCs and allow quick capture, copying, editing, and saving of screenshots.
