how to thread a needle

To thread a needle, one of the easiest methods is the "Fold Over and Pinch Method," which does not require any tools. First, fold the thread over itself near the end and pinch the fold between your thumb and forefinger to keep it stiff and supported. Then, place the eye of the needle over the pinched fold and push the needle down through the fold until the thread passes through the needle's eye. Alternatively, using a needle threader is very helpful: slide the wire loop of the threader through the needle’s eye, then put the thread through the wire loop and pull the loop back out, bringing the thread through the needle. A classic hands-on method is to slightly wet the end of the thread by wetting your fingers or using a bit of water. This dampens and stiffens the thread end, making it easier to push through the needle’s eye. These methods work well for hand sewing with any type of thread and needle size and help avoid the thread bending or fraying while threading the needle.
