To turn off an iPhone, the method depends on the model:
- For iPhones with Face ID (iPhone X and later), simultaneously press and hold the Side button and either Volume button until the power off slider appears on the screen. Then slide the slider to turn off the phone.
- For iPhones with a Home button, press and hold the Side (or Top) button until the power off slider appears, then slide to turn off.
- Alternatively, on any iPhone, you can go to Settings > General > Shut Down, then slide to power off.
- With iOS 18, you can also open Control Center by swiping down from the top-right corner and tap the power icon to access the power off slider.
This means the main ways are the button combo for newer devices, the single button for older devices, or using the Shut Down option in Settings.
