To turn off Vanish Mode on Instagram, follow these steps:
- Open the Instagram app and go to your Direct Messages (DMs) by tapping the paper airplane or Messenger icon in the top right corner.
- Open the chat where Vanish Mode is currently enabled. You will notice the chat has a darker theme or shaded lines indicating Vanish Mode is active.
- To disable Vanish Mode, swipe up from the bottom of the chat screen and then release. This gesture will turn off Vanish Mode and return the chat to its normal appearance.
Alternatively, you can turn off Vanish Mode through chat settings:
- In the chat, tap the person's name or the chat header at the top of the screen.
- Select "Privacy and safety" or look for the Vanish Mode toggle.
- Switch off the Vanish Mode toggle to disable it for that conversation.
Once Vanish Mode is turned off, the shaded lines or dark background will disappear, and your messages will no longer disappear automatically
