To turn on Do Not Disturb (DND) mode, the steps vary slightly depending on whether you are using an iPhone or an Android device:
On iPhone:
- Swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen (on iPhone X and later) or swipe up from the bottom (on earlier models) to open the Control Center.
- Tap Focus , then tap Do Not Disturb. The icon will light up, indicating DND is active.
- Alternatively, you can go to Settings > Focus > Do Not Disturb to customize settings or schedule DND times.
- When DND is on, a crescent moon icon appears in the status bar and on the Lock Screen
On Android:
- Swipe down from the top of your screen to open the Quick Settings panel.
- Look for the Do Not Disturb icon (usually a circle with a dash) and tap it to turn on DND. You might need to swipe to a second page of icons.
- To set schedules or customize exceptions (such as allowing calls from favorites or alarms), go to Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb or Settings > Sound & vibration > Do Not Disturb.
- On Samsung Galaxy phones, swipe down with two fingers to open Quick Settings, tap and hold the Do Not Disturb icon to access schedules and exceptions
You can turn off Do Not Disturb by reversing these steps—tapping the icon again in Control Center or Quick Settings will disable it. This feature silences calls, alerts, and notifications except for any exceptions you set, helping you focus or rest without interruptions
