Desktop (Windows, Mac)
Discord on desktop automatically checks for and installs updates when launched. Fully close the app (not just the window) and reopen it to trigger an update check. Alternatively, use Ctrl+R (Windows) or Command+R (Mac) for a quick restart and check without fully closing.
Mobile (iOS, Android)
Update Discord via your device's app store. On iOS, open the App Store, tap your profile, and select Update next to Discord if available. On Android, open the Play Store, tap your profile, go to Manage apps & device > Updates, and tap Update for Discord.
Troubleshooting
If updates fail, fully close Discord, reopen it, or reinstall from the official site after clearing app data folders like %AppData%\Discord on Windows. Linux users may need manual steps for flatpak or tar.gz files via config edits or package managers.
