To use Google Meet, follow these steps:
Joining a Meeting
- Receive a meeting link or code from the host.
- Click the link or go to meet.google.com and enter the meeting code.
- Allow Google Meet to access your microphone and camera when prompted.
- Click "Join now" to enter the meeting.
- Use the toolbar to mute/unmute your microphone, turn your camera on/off, leave the call, turn on captions, or present your screen
Starting a Meeting
- Go to meet.google.com.
- Click "New meeting" and choose to:
- Create a meeting for later (generates a link to share),
- Start an instant meeting (join immediately),
- Or schedule a meeting in Google Calendar.
- Share the meeting link with participants
Scheduling a Meeting
- Open Google Calendar.
- Create a new event and add meeting details.
- Click "Add Google Meet video conferencing."
- Save and send invitations to guests.
- At meeting time, click the Meet link in the calendar event to start the meeting
Using Meeting Controls
- Mute/unmute your microphone and turn your camera on/off.
- Change layout views (sidebar, spotlight, tiled).
- Share your screen or a specific window.
- Use chat to send messages.
- Raise your hand to speak.
- Hosts can manage participant permissions, create breakout rooms, run polls, and enable Q&A sessions
