To use Google Pay, follow these steps:
- Download and open the Google Pay or Google Wallet app on your Android device (Android 9.0 or higher is recommended).
- Sign in with your Google account.
- Add a payment method by scanning or manually entering your credit or debit card details, then verify your card with your bank as prompted.
- Enable NFC (Near Field Communication) on your phone and set Google Pay as your default payment app.
- To pay in stores, unlock your phone and hold the back near the contactless payment terminal until confirmation appears.
- For online payments, select Google Pay at checkout and follow prompts.
- To send money, open the app, tap "Send," enter the recipient's phone number or email, and the amount, then send.
- Google Pay also supports adding loyalty and rewards cards, and splitting bills.
Your phone must have NFC turned on for tap-to-pay, and a screen lock set up for security. Google Pay is widely accepted wherever contactless payment symbols are displayed. It is a secure way to pay with tokenized transactions protecting your card details.
