To use YouTube on a smart TV, follow these steps:
- Open the YouTube app on your smart TV. Most smart TVs come with the YouTube app pre-installed. If not, download it from your TV's app store.
- Sign in to YouTube on the TV app by either:
- Using the TV remote to select "Sign in" and enter your account details manually, or
- Scanning a QR code shown on the TV screen with your mobile YouTube app to automatically sign in, or
- Using a TV code by going to Settings > Link with TV code on the YouTube app on your TV, and entering the code in your mobile YouTube app under Cast > Link with TV code.
- Watch videos by browsing on your TV or use your phone, tablet, or computer to cast videos to the TV:
- Make sure your mobile device and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open the YouTube app on your mobile device and tap the Cast icon.
- Select your smart TV from the list to start casting videos to the TV.
- You can control video playback using your mobile device or the TV remote.
This allows you to enjoy YouTube videos on a bigger screen with better image and sound quality, and also gives you the flexibility to control playback from your phone or tablet.
