if you forward an email who can see it

When you forward an email:

  • The original sender of the email cannot see that you have forwarded their message and does not get any notification about it. Your email client treats the forwarded message as a separate new email with no direct relation to the original sent message.
  • The recipient to whom you forward the email can see the content you forward and often sees that it is a forwarded email, including headers and original recipients if you don't remove them. However, you can edit the forwarded email to remove email headers or any information before sending it to hide the forwarding details.
  • Your internet service provider or email service provider generally cannot see the forwarding due to encryption, but if you are on a corporate or school email system, administrators might have access to logs or tracking features that show forwarding activities internally.
  • If a forwarded email contains tracking pixels or read receipt requests, the original sender might be able to infer or know that the email was opened or forwarded indirectly, but they do not get an explicit notification.
  • If you include the original sender in the To, CC, or BCC fields while forwarding, they will receive the forwarded copy as a recipient.

In summary, only the new recipients to whom you forward the email can see it. The original sender usually cannot see that you forwarded the email, unless special tracking or administrative monitoring is involved.
