In opioid overdose recovery kits, naloxone typically comes in two common forms: a prepackaged nasal spray and an injectable form. The nasal spray is a prefilled, needle-free device sprayed into one nostril, often easier for non- medical people to use. The injectable form can be administered into a muscle, under the skin, or into a vein and usually requires drawing the dose from a vial or comes as a prefilled syringe. Both forms are FDA-approved and widely used for emergency opioid overdose reversal.
