FIFA was established in the city of Paris, France in 1904. The founding meeting took place on May 21, 1904, in Paris, where representatives of seven national football associations came together to create the organization. Robert Guérin, a French journalist, was the first president of FIFA. Although FIFA's headquarters are now in Zurich, Switzerland, its origin is Paris.
