Jonathan Briley was a sound engineer who worked at Windows on the World, the restaurant on the top floors of the North Tower of the World Trade Center. He was born on March 5, 1958, and died on September 11, 2001, during the attacks. Jonathan Briley is widely believed to be the man captured falling from the North Tower in the famous photograph known as "The Falling Man," taken by photographer Richard Drew. He worked above the impact zone and had asthma, which likely influenced his awareness of the danger when the fire started. Briley was ordained as a deacon at First Baptist Church of Elmsford and was known for his humble and helpful nature. His remains were recovered the day after the attacks, and his family has honored his memory with a scholarship fund.
