Meta Quest 3 is a standalone virtual reality (VR) headset developed by Reality Labs, a division of Meta Platforms. It was unveiled on June 1, 2023, and released on October 10, 2023, succeeding the Quest 2 as the third generation of the Meta Quest line. The Quest 3 features a thinner form factor, enhanced lenses, additional sensors, and color passthrough cameras for mixed reality (MR) experiences. It uses dual LCD displays with a resolution of 2064×2208 pixels per eye, a Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset, and new "Touch Plus" controllers. It supports both native VR apps and PC streaming, is backward compatible with Quest 2 software, and offers improved graphics and tracking capabilities. The headset is priced starting at $499.99 for the 128 GB model with higher storage options available. Meta also released the Quest 3S as a more affordable entry-level model at $299.99 in 2024.
