Michael Bolton's version of "When a Man Loves a Woman" was released in 1991 on his album "Time, Love & Tenderness." His cover of the song, originally recorded by Percy Sledge in 1966, became very successful, reaching number one on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboard Adult Contemporary charts. This version also earned Michael Bolton a Grammy Award. It was notable as the last number-one song on the old Billboard Hot 100 charting system before changes were made to how the charts were compiled.
