The regions in which parenchyma tissue is present are mainly in the soft parts of plants, including:

- Mesophyll of leaves, fruits, and flowers
- Ground tissue of petioles
- Medullary rays

- Vascular bundles
Parenchyma tissue consists of thin-walled, living cells that perform various functions such as photosynthesis, storage, and tissue repair in plants. In animals, parenchyma refers to the functional parts of organs such as the brain (neurons and glial cells), lungs (alveoli involved in gas exchange), liver (hepatocytes), and kidneys (renal cortex and medulla). Thus, parenchyma tissue is present in the soft tissues of plants like leaves and stems, and in the functional parts of animal organs like brain, lungs, liver, and kidneys.
