Lystrosaurus lived primarily on the landmass of Pangaea, specifically in the southern part known as Gondwana. Its fossils have been found on the landmasses that today correspond to Africa, Antarctica, and India. Additionally, fossils of Lystrosaurus have also been discovered in China, Mongolia, European Russia, and South Africa, indicating a wide distribution across parts of what are now multiple continents. These locations were part of the supercontinent Pangaea during the late Permian and Early Triassic periods.
