One World Trade Center (also known as One WTC or the Freedom Tower) is the main building of the rebuilt World Trade Center complex in Lower Manhattan, New York City. It is the tallest building in the United States and the Western Hemisphere, reaching a height of 1,776 feet (541 meters), symbolizing the year of the United States Declaration of Independence. The tower opened in 2014, replacing the original North Tower which was destroyed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
