Orca Wiesblatt, a 25-year-old professional hockey player and former WHL forward, died in a car crash in British Columbia over the weekend. He was preparing to play for the Allen Americans of the ECHL in the upcoming season, having had a strong prior season with the Athens Rock Lobsters in the Federal Prospects Hockey League. Orca was known for his skill, energy, and infectious smile, and was mourned deeply by his family, teammates, and the hockey community. He was also the brother of NHL player Ozzy Wiesblatt. The Allen Americans plan to honor him at their opening night on October 24, 2025.
