Pangolins live in diverse habitats across Asia and Africa. They can be found in tropical and flooded forests, thick brush, savannah grasslands, woodlands, and even cultivated areas like farmland and plantations. Some species live in trees (arboreal), while others are ground dwellers and dig deep burrows for nesting. They tend to inhabit areas where there is a plentiful supply of ants and termites, their main food source. Asian pangolins often have hair between their scales and can also be found in tree hollows, while African pangolins live in various environments, including burrows dug by themselves or other animals like aardvarks. Their habitats often include sandy soils and they can be found near water sources in woodlands or savannas.
