Ramallah is a Palestinian city located in the central West Bank, about 10 kilometers (roughly 6 miles) north of Jerusalem. It serves as the administrative capital of the Palestinian Authority and is part of the Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate. The city sits on the Judaean Mountains at an elevation of around 872 meters (2,861 feet) above sea level, and it forms a continuous urban area with the neighboring town of al-Bireh. Ramallah hosts several key government offices, museums, and cultural venues, and it has historically been a major political and economic hub in the region.
