rdr2 how to fast travel

In Red Dead Redemption 2, there are two main ways to fast travel:

  1. Public Transport: You can fast travel by using stagecoaches and trains. By going to the nearest ticket station or stagecoach, you purchase a ticket to your desired destination and quickly travel there. This method costs money each time you use it.
  2. Fast Travel from Camp: To fast travel from your gang's camp, you must unlock this feature by upgrading your camp. First, complete the mission "Money Lending and Other Sins" (usually early in Chapter 2) to unlock the camp ledger. Then, use the ledger to upgrade Dutch's lodgings and Arthur's wagon. After upgrading Arthur's wagon, a fast travel map will appear on the side of the wagon near Arthur's tent. Interact with this map to select a destination you have previously visited, and you will fast travel there on your horse for free. You can also fast travel from temporary camps you set up in the wilderness once this upgrade is unlocked.

Note that you cannot fast travel directly from anywhere on the map; you must either use public transport or be at your camp or temporary camp to fast travel using the map. In summary:

  • Use stagecoaches or trains for paid fast travel between towns.
  • Unlock the camp fast travel map by upgrading your camp to fast travel for free from camp or temporary camps.
  • The fast travel map is located on Arthur's wagon near his tent after upgrades.

This unlock is generally available after progressing into Chapter 2 and making camp upgrades costing about $545 total.
