SF State University offers a variety of parking permit options. A valid parking permit is required 24 hours a day, seven days a week to park in all campus lots. SF State now has a virtual parking permit system that uses virtual verification to verify parking authorization. With this new parking permit management system, you will no longer have to display a physical parking permit. Your license plate becomes your virtual permit. However, due to limited parking on campus, students are strongly encouraged to use a bike or public transportation. Any vehicle parked on campus must display a valid permit.

Residents of UPN are issued one street parking permit per unit. UPN residents may also obtain a parking permit for a covered parking space for an additional fee. Residents of UPS are eligible to obtain an annual residential parking permit from the City of San Francisco. The city permit will allow you to park in any ā€œEā€ parking zone (street parking around SF State) .
