To vote in Singapore, a qualified voter must:
- Bring original or digital identification such as NRIC or passport to the allotted polling station on Polling Day between 8 am and 8 pm.
- Mark their choice clearly with an "X" in one of the empty boxes on the ballot paper without making any identifying marks and keep the vote secret.
- Fold the marked ballot paper and drop it into the ballot box, then leave the polling station promptly.
Eligibility to vote requires Singapore citizenship, being at least 21 years old on a prescribed cut-off date, and being ordinarily resident in Singapore or having a local contact address if overseas. Voting is compulsory, and failure to vote can result in removal from the register of electors. Overseas Singaporeans can vote by post or at overseas polling stations if registered properly.
