Key Stage 2 refers to the four years of schooling in maintained schools in England and Wales, which are normally known as Year 3, Year 4, Year 5, and Year 6. During this stage, pupils are typically aged between 7 and 11 years old. At the end of Key Stage 2, pupils aged 11 or almost age 11 in Year 6 are tested as part of the national program of National Curriculum Tests. This stage is part of the National Curriculum and includes compulsory subjects such as English, maths, science, design and technology, history, geography, art and design, music, physical education, computing, and languages.
