Boons in Fortnite are special equipable perks or buffs that provide lasting advantages during a match. They enhance core gameplay mechanics such as aiming, movement, weapon handling, and tactical knowledge like revealing the next Storm circle. Boons can be found in chests, special drop pods, and other loot locations on the map, and they often improve as the player's Hero Rank increases during a match.
Types of Boons and Their Effects
- Agile Aiming Boon : Reduces recoil and bullet spread while aiming down sights and allows maintaining more movement speed while aiming.
- Extended Magazine Boon : Increases magazine capacity for all weapons.
- Storm Forecast Boon : Reveals the next Storm circle location.
- Super Soldier Boon : Offers benefits tied to player rank, including reduced stamina consumption, faster reload speed, reduced weapon recoil and spread, increased sprint speed, and unlimited energy at the highest rank.
- Storm Caller Boon : Replenishes shield while in the Storm, with more shield given at higher ranks.
- Speed Healer Boon : Allows sprinting while using healing items and grants a "Slap" effect that increases in duration with rank.
- Combat Acrobat Boon : Reloads weapons partially (or all at highest rank) when performing parkour moves like mantling.
- Heightened Senses Boon : Marks players who attack you, with longer marking duration and lower cooldown at higher ranks.
How to Collect Boons
Boons can be found randomly in chests, OXR chests, Hive Sacs, and as floor loot, but players can guarantee finding Super Soldier Boons by increasing their OXR Rank during a match and searching nearby OXR Drop Pods. Ranking up is done by searching chests, eliminating opponents, and especially by destroying Swarmer nests and blasting bugs around the map. Boons give players powerful but temporary advantages during gameplay, enhancing their performance and tactical capabilities in Fortnite matches.
