The sheath adjacent to the neurilemma is the endoneurium, which houses blood capillaries that feed nutrients and oxygen to the nerve. Nerves send electrical impulses throughout the body to control sensations, movement, and other functions. They help you feel sensations and move your muscles, and also maintain certain autonomic functions like breathing, sweating, or digesting food. There are two main types of nerves: sensory nerves carry signals to your brain to help you touch, taste, smell, and see, while motor nerves carry signals to your muscles or glands to help you move and function.
