To be eligible to run for President of the United States, a candidate must meet the following constitutional requirements:
- Be a natural-born citizen of the United States.
- Be at least 35 years old.
- Have been a resident of the United States for at least 14 years
Once a candidate meets these requirements, they can declare their candidacy for president. It's also important to note that the President is not directly elected by the people, but instead, the members of the Electoral College are elected by the people, and they ultimately elect the President
